 MITRE has an exciting opportunity for a Cross Domain Systems Engineer for an established Enterprise Cross Domain Service (ECDS) that supports a wide set of missions within the Intelligence Community (IC).  This ECDS is now on the third major release and deployed at two sites.  You will be working closely with a mission partner on a common baseline and working towards a broader federated model to support cross domain requirements across the IC.  Cross domain services span a variety of security domains and classes of services.  This program is aggressively looking to add new capabilities and services.  The Chief Information Security Officer is a key supporter of the service and coordinates closely with the programs on the roadmap. 


 


This position provides the opportunity to leverage your expertise in cross domain solutions in a technical advisory role with significant customer interaction at the government executive level across the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD). In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS) systems engineering as part of larger systems engineering efforts and support the development of system designs that meet both mission functional requirements and security policy and assurance requirements.

Key Functions:


  • Engage with technical experts within MITRE and from the Unified Cross Domain Services Management Office (UCDSMO), DoD, the IC, CDS vendors, and the CDS user community to identify and solve information sharing and security challenges

  • Provide technical expertise on the application and enabling of Enterprise Cross Domain Services (ECDS)

  • Coordinate with DoD and IC CDS communities to identify ECDS requirements and gaps

  • Identify ECDS when possible to meet information access and sharing requirements, and provide guidance on how to make best use of currently available CDSs

  • Perform CDS tradeoff analysis, and assess designs/implementation on their ability to support functional requirement

  • Investigate integration of new filtering technologies into the ECDS program

  • Work closely with security assessment teams to ensure compliance with security standards

 












Required Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated knowledge of Cyber security and CDS

  • Ability to apply security principles and mechanisms to the systems and enterprise system designs

  • Knowledge / expertise in systems security engineering, including requirements analysis and system architecture design

  • Knowledge of security threats that apply to cross domain technologies

  • Ability investigate data standards and develop new filtering rules

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:
BS, Polygraph clearance, and 8 years related experience
