Key Functions:

Work as part of a team of system engineers, analysts, and Air Traffic Control operational domain experts to help the FAA and international sponsors define and evaluate concepts and automation systems for evolving operations in the terminal (TRACON and Tower) domain.

Applies systems engineering principles and processes to aviation and air traffic control systems and early lifecycle concept engineering/development activities. For example, developing concepts of operation, developing use cases to highlight key operational components, analyzing operational performance data, evaluating concept feasibility through simulation, performing requirements analysis and synthesis, conducting functional analysis and allocation, and performing concept and requirements validation activities related to advanced capability that improve the National Airspace System.

Supports independent and objective assessments of sponsor strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
o B. S. or MS Systems Engineering or related engineering degrees (e. g., computer engineering, industrial engineering, engineering management, aerospace engineering and electrical engineering)


Preferred Qualifications:
o Experience in one or more of the following systems engineering lifecycle phases: concept development, requirements engineering, system architecture, system design and development, systems integration.
o Aviation or ATC familiarity or experience


FAA program knowledge or experience is a plus.
