MITREs Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Portfolio focuses on systems engineering, systems analysis, systems assessment, and the enabling sensor, communications, and information technologies. Join us and become a key contributor to resolve some of the most challenging problems of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS).


As a MITRE Aegis BMD System Engineer, you will provide technical expertise and apply sound systems engineering principles in areas such as Aegis radar systems, fire control, and interceptors. Engineers in this domain will support the systems engineering process including SRR, PDR, and CDR milestones. The Systems Engineer will work collaboratively, assess system capabilities and limitations, and recommend technical approaches to solve critical problems.


The ideal candidate will have proven experience in:

Systems Engineering and Analysis

Missile Defense

Requirements development, integration, testing, analysis, and verification

Analysis and trade study development to include reporting

Aegis BMD


Candidates must possess the ability to:

Clearly communicate complex ideas

Engage effectively with a wide range of audiences

Work independently and in a team environment

Collaborate with multiple stakeholders

Provide leadership and technical management of tasks

Effectively communicate FFRDC and MITRE roles to bring differentiated value to the task



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical,  Computer or Systems Engineering or similar field and 8 years related experience
