Become part of our team as an in-country engineer for the KF-X effort. This program provides technical assistance to Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) to develop an advanced, multi-role fighter for the Republic of Korea Air Force. This position will be located in Sacheon, South Korea, and responsibilities include:

• Review and comment on Landing Gear Vendor analysis reports to include: loads, stress, fatigue, and test qualification reports. Help plan and develop requirements for drop test, static testing, and fatigue testing of the shock struts. In addition, help support wheel/tire/brake qualification testing, arresting hook qualification testing, and review qualification testing of gear and door actuators (including steering).
• Provide guidance to planning and detailing the ground and flight test requirement to support landing and arresting gear certification efforts.
• Review and advise on dynamic analysis of the gear and development of gear load cases.
• Review of specifications, process specification, repair procedures & manuals, and review of the flight manual and other tasks, as required
• Other duties include supporting safety and risk assessments and planning sustainment efforts

In addition to strong technical skills, the candidate should have a track record of success working in diverse groups where attention to the customer is paramount. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert and train and mentor customer engineers. Upon selection, the candidate will receive details of the long-term benefits package associated with this international assignment. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Candidate must be able to relocate internationally

Basic Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college
• 7+ years related experience directly applicable structural and system dynamics
• Experience mentoring or training engineers on diverse teams

Desired skills
The following are desired but not required:

• Knowledge of finite element codes to support static and fatigue analysis, familiarity with environmental testing, corrosion control procedures, manufacturing processes, inspection techniques, and have exposure to dynamic load simulation routines
• Familiarity with static stress and fatigue analysis will be needed to help integrate the landing gear system into the air vehicle system.

Additionally:
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Experience with military or government programs
• Experience working with international customers, particularly the Korean Government or culture
• Experience with Export Control Compliance
