The John Bardeen Engineering Leadership Program is designed to provide full-time entry-level opportunities for outstanding engineering graduates who are interested in working in an environment of technology and projects that support cutting edge research. Fermilab provides opportunities in the fields of civil, computer, cryogenic, electrical, electronics, mechanical, material science, power distribution, radio frequency systems and super-conducting magnets engineering.

Requirements

 

We Are Looking For:

 

  • An interest in accelerator technology or engineering work aligned with that conducted at Fermilab.

  • Interest in working within an environment that advances accelerator and detector technology.

  • Master or Doctoral degree in Engineering from an accredited institution/program as defined by the ABET (www.abet.org) or internationally recognized equivalent; MS and PhD applicants will be evaluated within a group of applicants with similar academic degrees.

  • Applicants must have received a Masters or Doctorate degree within the last three (3) years. An academic ranking in the top quarter of the graduating class will be considered favorably.

  • A thesis consisting of independent study must have been a significant part of the graduate degree. Degrees consisting of only complete classroom work do not qualify.

  • Clear evidence of leadership abilities in past work and/or research activities.

  • Ability to work independently on small- to- medium-sized projects.

  • Ability to address and solve challenging engineering topics and/or problems.

  • Fundamental knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures, and skill in the development of engineering specifications and documentation.
