MITREs Center for Financial Enterprise Transformation is looking for technical professionals to work with the IRS to modernize and enable its internal processing and customer services. Modernizing large IT systems and ecosystems is a key element of our portfolio. We will provide you with challenging opportunities to apply and expand your technical, engineering, innovation and transformation, and analytic skills. We are looking for highly-motivated, adaptive, and self-directed mid-career candidates with a broad spectrum of experience in modernizing large-scale data and processing-intensive systems, migration planning, and transformation. We are seeking someone that will provide leadership, system planning, technical analysis, and problem solving for government customers in collaboration with MITRE team members from a variety of specialties.



Key Functions: 



Identify challenges and opportunities with legacy systems and applications and recommend innovative approaches for modernization
Work in a team environment as a technical contributor to analyze current systems, recommend target designs, and develop strategies and plans to achieve the target based on the current state
Tackle wicked problems associated with disentangling legacy systems from a larger enterprise environment and using their replacements to transform the larger environment
Work closely with government sponsors to identify and address roadblocks before they are reached
Perform deep dive analyses on specific technical and system issues to rapidly recommend resolutions












 


Requirement Qualifications:


 7+ years documented success in applying one or more of the following capabilities in complex environments such as: IT System Design and Engineering, Software Design and Engineering, IT System Analysis, Enterprise IT Planning, Enterprise Data Management


Detail-oriented with a comprehensive understanding of the Systems Engineering Life Cycle and proven ability to apply that expertise to the end-to-end engineering of information systems
Experience with specification, assessment, design, development, integration, and delivery of large-scale, COTS-based IT solutions


Strong written and verbal communication skills, to include delivery of executive-level briefings and technical documentation


Bachelors degree in System, Software, or Data engineering, Computer Science, or related IT disciplines



Preferred Qualifications:



5+ years experience with XaaS, portal, service-based implementations, NoSQL, or related technologies
5+ years experience with Case Management, Tax Processing, or Financial Account Management
Demonstrated understanding of Cyber solutions for detecting and protecting complex enterprise environments
