You will develop High Performance Computing capability for faster sensor processing systems. This opportunity is within GTRI’s Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory whose researchers investigate and develop radio/microwave frequency sensor systems. Responsibilities include design and architecture development of state-of-the-art applications and complex real-time algorithms used for radar and other sensors.
REQUIREMENTS THAT MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics
- US Citizenship AND/ OR the ability to get a security clearance
- 4+ years of related experience in HPC software design / architecture.
- Multi-threaded programming (e.g., pthreads, OpenMP, TBB, etc.)
- Performance programming (e.g., vectorization, cache-aware algorithms, low-level optimization, profile-driven development)
- Heterogeneous / accelerator programming (e.g., GPUs or Xeon Phi using CUDA, OpenCL, etc.)
- A background in signal processing and/or linear algebra
- Familiarity with high-speed networking (e.g., 10/40 GbE, Infiniband)
- An understanding of computer architecture as it relates to both high level HPC design and low-level optimization
- Able to program in C/C++
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A sound understanding of algorithmic complexity
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a distributed team
- Distributed and parallel programming (e.g., MPI)
- A background in radar applications and related algorithms
- Experience with real-time operating systems
