Description: Summary of Description:  

The candidate will provide hardware and test engineering for ongoing sponsored programs where GTRI is accomplishing modernization efforts for the US Air Force in the area of Electronic Warfare (EW).  The successful applicant must have knowledge of electronic countermeasures (ECM) theory, experience in its application, and testing.  Responsibilities will include ECM development, implementation, and verification & validation testing.

Core competencies for this position:  

  • Knowledge of Electronic Countermeasures (ECM)
  • Knowledge of RF and Electrical Test Equipment
  • Knowledge of Digital RF Memory (DRFM) systems
  • Works well individually or in a group setting
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to self-motivate and derive specific requirements from general tasking descriptions 
  • Ability to assimilate and apply new job-related information in a timely manner

Job Requirements:

Research Scientist II

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Doctoral degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.

Other Requirements:

  • US Citizenship
  • DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain a clearance within six months after your employment with Georgia Tech Research Institute begins is required

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • >5 year of relevant experience
  • Completion of personal projects in a related field
  • Knowledge and experience in EW
  • Knowledge and experience in RF Systems
