The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) in Atlanta, GA is looking for Hardware FPGA Radar Engineers who can think outside of the box and don’t want to do the same old thing every day. This opportunity is within the Aerospace, Transportation and Advanced Systems Lab ( ATAS ). ATAS conducts research for government and industry customers in aerodynamics, radar and weapons systems, food processing technology, unmanned systems and modeling of social systems.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Conceive, design, develop, test and present FPGA solutions for radar design and reverse engineering projects. The role will be to provide your engineering expertise to conceive, design, develop, test and deliver solutions for a variety of projects. This will include hardware and software design and engineering, reverse engineering of outdated foreign radar systems, design of new systems, design of computer controls, digital electronics design, FPGA programming and other work.

REQUIREMENTS THAT MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • BS, MS or PhD with degree in EE, ECE or equivalent.
  • US Citizenship AND/ OR the ability to get a security clearance
  • Significant hands on experience with hardware control and FPGA programming and the full life cycle development and test
  • Requires project/task management, writing & presentation skills, documentation, report and proposal preparation.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • experience with design, development of radar systems is a plus.
  • Experience in digital signal processing DSP, modeling and simulation, instrumentation integration, telemetry, data links, and network systems also desirable.
