Job Details

Responsible for Components Engineering efforts in design, development, and evaluation of electrical and mechanical parts including responsibility for evaluating electrical components, industry trends, enabling/emerging technologies, design and construction, quality and reliability, failure modes and mechanisms, manufacturer capabilities and limitations, and industry, government and international standards.

Provide technical planning and definition of tools, methodologies, and strategies used in the implementation and integration of electrical components.
Support management of diminishing manufacturing sources (DMS) by providing assistance in the selection and use of electrical components (analog and digital) including devices such as microcontrollers, fiber optic transceivers, power management circuits, storage devices, switches and multiplexers, voltage reference devices, to name a few.

Support design and prototyping (production to final test) by providing key services such as component package design, test services, quality and manufacturing guidance; will work directly with system and hardware design engineers to provide the best component available to meet equipment application requirements

Must be a US Citizen, this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access

Basic Qualifications
Experience in Standard Parts & DMS management

Ability to develop and qualify standard components

Ability to manage supplier performance for the procurement of Standard Parts & DMS

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college/university.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Solid math and science background

Desired skills
Candidate should have an understanding and ability to apply basic Electrical Engineering principles, theories and concepts. Demonstrated ability to perform independently. Experience with electrical/electronic components, failure analysis, electrical component design and test, part application design, circuit board technologies

Excellent oral and written communication skills and analytical skills.

Ability to convey technical data and concepts in concise messages and presentations
