Job Details

Specialty Engineering Laboratory position working in the Parts Evaluation Lab (PEL). The successful candidate must be comfortable in an analytical laboratory setting. Laboratory testing includes sample preparation and measurement of physical, performance and processing properties of representative materials and part devices using standard and specialized equipment and instrumentation. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to develop solutions to technical problems associated with problem investigations using technical principles and concepts consistent with education and experience. Major categories of workload include receiving acceptance of representative parts used in the production of satellite and space vehicles and hardware. This support is to include physical testing and programming of representative parts and engineering qualification. This position requires specification review, parts and device testing to include visual, Material Analysis, Fine and Gross Leak, Hermaticity, Functional Testing and Upscreen. Additional functions include review of laboratory test results, evaluation of data and completion of related quality documentation and the final lab report. Provides required quality products with some supervision

Basic Qualifications
Experience with electrical components testing and/or laboratory experience. Familiarity with laboratory equipment and application including, but not limited to electronics, circuitry, environmental testing, fine and gross leak testing, functional testing, upscreen testing and programming. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite

Desired skills
Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics Engineering, or equivalent. Experience working with aerospace electrical components. An aptitude to acquire a working knowledge of various test program platforms. Works well with customers and possess a quality, customer satisfaction orientation. Willingness to utilize performance metrics to measure and improve performance. A familiarity with Laboratory Management Systems (LIMS) and a familiarity with SAP
