Mid-Level Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) engineer position focusing on the Navigation/GPS portion for the GNC team on a specific program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and analyzing Navigation/Tracking/GPS algorithms and models using various simulations, developing and testing 6-DoF simulation Navigation/GPS/Satellite/RF models and simulation builds, performing flight software verification and hardware integration tests in the simulation and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) lab, developing and reviewing specifications. Must be able to program in higher-order languages, such as C/C++/FORTRAN, and be able to work with MATLAB. M-Code experience, Modeling and Simulation, Integration and Test, Embedded Software, Mission Planning, Survivability experience a plus. This position may require travel from time to time

A Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) engineer assures that a platform is capable of finding its way to an intended destination and delivering its payload optimally. This is accomplished, in part, by performing Missile 6DOF simulation analysis and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) simulation analysis. Inclusive in this process is the development and analysis of guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms. In addition, development of simulation models and performing hardware integration is required. Performance verification and troubleshooting is also required. Target tracking is an integral part of guidance and fire control. The engineer will be responsible for designing target tracking systems which generally include target state estimation and target/detection association and assignment which is particularly challenging in surveillance systems

Basic Qualifications
Must have experience with feedback control system design and analysis and knowledge of basic aerodynamic principles. Strong math skills are required in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, and trigonometry and coordinate transformation. The candidate must have experience with state estimation filters such as KALMAN, Extended KALMAN filter (EKF) and multiple model adaptive estimation. Experience in terrestrial navigation and navigation state error estimation is also required. Must be experienced in MATLAB and C/C++ programming

Desired skills
Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) simulation experience is desired. Flight software integration and verification experience is also a plus. Experience with Embedded Software, RF/EO knowledge, and experience programming in FORTRAN is also a plus
