Serve as a task lead
in support of the projects associated with the Ground Sensors Lab (GSL).  The position has two components: (1) serving
as the lab manager, responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of all
tasks of this radar performance analysis lab, including overseeing projects
analyses, analytical tool development, and enhancements to facility capabilities
(hardware/software/security), and (2) serving in an individual contributor role
conducting analyses and developing analysis tools.  Key functions include:



  • Develop/execute a technical/business strategy focused on maximizing
    lab impact
  • Work closely with project leaders on how to best leverage the GSL
    for high impact performance analyses
  • Work closely with the staff members that use GSL to ensure that
    they have the tools/resources needed to conduct analyses.
  • Provide guidance/oversight to lab technicians to ensure that lab
    facilities function properly (includes system administration, security,
    classified connectivity, and configuration of lab tools) 
  • Provide innovative and technically sound thought leadership and
    guidance and direction to the GSL team
  • Identify opportunities to increase the impact of the GSL
  • Work with MITRE resource and project leadership on capital
    equipment needs
  • Brief sponsor and MITRE leadership on the GSL activities
  • Conduct analyses using simulated or live recorded sensor data to
    assess system performance or determine root cause of system behavior
  • Perform trade studies to determine feasibility of new concepts to
    improve performance
  • Develop software analysis tools and scripts to enable efficient
    analyses for current and future studies












Qualifications


  • Broad expertise in radar/sensor technology
  • Experience dealing effectively with senior-level sponsors
    addressing complex technical and operational issues
  • Broad engineering expertise in system engineering, analysis, design
    and evaluation
  • Knowledge of space, missile defense, and missile warning domains
  • Ability to lead a small team; must be self-motivated to work on
    individual projects
  • Experience dealing effectively with senior-level MITRE leadership
  • Strong programming/analytical skills, particularly in C/C++, Java,
    MATLAB, and Python.  Experience
    using commercial tools to conduct quantitative analyses
  • Strong communication/briefing skills
Other


Desired
skills/experience include experience with Missile Defense Agency,
experience with Air Force Space Command, knowledge of security processes and
procedures for a classified environment, and experience in a lab environment.



 


This position is up
to full time, of which 25% - 50% is estimated to be in the lab manager role,
and the remainder in the tool development and analysis individual contributor
role.



Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical,  Computer or Systems Engineering or similar field.  Candidate should possess the ability to be responsible for deliverables or parts of deliverables to customers.
