As a Software Engineer at MITRE, you will work on a cutting-edge program focused on some of the most challenging technical issues facing our national security sponsor located in Stafford, VA. Key Functions:
Applies software engineering expertise to develop innovative technical capabilities that directly address pressing customer needs
Communicates with operational stakeholders to understand their day-to-day needs and identify opportunities for delivering new and enhanced features
Balances multiple priorities and projects and works in a dynamic environment.
Collaborates with a geographically dispersed development team.












Required Qualifications:
Secret Clearance
Experience with analyzing, prototyping, and developing low level software for various Operating System(s) including iOS, Android, and Linux
Demonstrated proficiency in one or more high-level programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Java, Objective-C)
Familiarity with scripting languages such as bash, Python, or Perl.
Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems and comfortable with using the CLI.
Familiarity with TCP/IP network protocols and application layer protocols (e.g., HTTP, SMTP, DNS, SSL, etc.)
Understanding of software security assurance
Experience using distributed revision control systems such as git.
Knowledge and demonstrated capability in writing kernel modules a plus
Experience using reverse engineering and static analysis tools such as IDA Pro a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field with some prior software systems engineering work experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS and 3 years related experience.
