Description: NOTE:  This position is located in at our Cobb County Research Facility in Smyrna, GA.
GTRI's Electro-Optical Systems Laboratory (EOSL) and Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) are looking for one or more GRAs to work in the area of modern target tracking. Potential topics of investigation include mulitsensor tracking, maneuvering target tracking, sensor resource allocation, and integration of signal processing and tracking.
Modern target tracking involves the processing of sensor measurements for the estimation of the kinematic states (e.g. position, velocity, acceleration) of maneuvering targets. Potential topics of investigation include the tracking of closely spaced objects, tracking maneuvering targets with multiple sensors, tracking maneuvering targets in the presence of sea-surface induced multipath, multisensory resource allocation, and integration of tracking and signal processing for sensor control. MATLAB modeling and simulation tools will be used to investigate the properties and performance of tracking algorithms. Candidates will be involved with a team of research engineers developing target tracking capability within GTRI.
The ideal candidate will have a background in random processes and an interest in detection and estimation theory, Kalman filtering, and signal processing. MATLAB experience is desired. Knowledge of radar signal processing is desired but not required.
Candidates should have Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering; 3.0 GPA required.
Due to requirements imposed by our contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
