The successful candidate for this job will work closely with the Systems Engineering Division of the U.S. Air Force's Global Positioning System Directorate on the Enterprise and systems security architecture that manages and distributes cryptographic keys for GPS military operations. The candidate will support MITRE's GPS Cybersecurity Task Leader.

This position includes:
Developing, refining, and overseeing the implementation of GPS cryptographic key and certificate management plans & requirements, both individually and as a team member
Coordinating all cryptographic key and certificate management work done for GPS; ensuring technical quality, timeliness, and customer satisfaction
Keeping the MITRE project and task leader informed of engineering or organizational concerns and technical needs
Supporting other project activities as needed


Key Functions:

Candidates must be able to take on and successfully complete diverse and technically challenging tasks needed to develop plans and requirements for evolving the GPS Enterprise.

Specific assignments will vary depending on customer needs but may include tasks similar to the following:

- Developing and maturing a key and certificate management roadmap for GPS cryptographic key and certificate management and distribution

- Performing analyses of alterative architectures and system designs

- Providing technical advice on cryptographic key and certificate issues

- Developing architectures, CONOPS and TTPs for key and certificate management and distribution

Required Qualifications:
High levels of technical insight, ingenuity, initiative, creativity, productivity, and collaboration skills
Knowledge with a high degree of proficiency in each of the following areas:

- DOD Public Key Infrastructure requirements
- Secure cryptographic key and certificate management best practices
- Enterprise systems engineering and architecting
- Hardware and software system development, integration, and test
- DOD systems acquisition

Ability to organize and write any MITRE product and prepare and present a coherent briefing, with minimal review needed

Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required knowledge qualifications listed above, the following other knowledge proficiencies are also strongly desired:

- GPS systems and signals
- Position, Navigation, and Timing
- Modernized GPS civil and military applications
- Enterprise modeling and simulation

Minimum Qualifications:
BS and 8 years related experience
