Mathematical Sciences Department

POSITION: Full-time Assistant or Associate Professor tenure-track faculty position in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

QUALIFICATIONSPh.D. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required; ability to teach a range of computer science courses; Christian faith with strong affinity for the values espoused by EMU that draw from its Anabaptist/Mennonite heritage. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching responsibilities will include up to twelve credit hours per semester in the Mathematical Sciences Department. Applicants must have a strong commitment to high-quality teaching, enthusiasm about mentoring and advising students, and enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues to build vibrant programs in the department. In particular, EMU began offering a major in Engineering in Fall 2016, with concentrations in Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Engagement in ongoing scholarly activity and departmental and university service is expected.

COMPENSATION: Nine-month contract. Salary determined by education and experience. Eastern Mennonite University uses a tenure-with-review contract system.

APPOINTMENT DATEPosition begins mid-August 2018. (We anticipate a second position to begin Fall 2019.) EMU reserves the right to fill the position at any time or keep the position open.
