The Faculty of Engineering, Computer Science and Psychology at Ulm University invites applications for a tenured

 

Full Professor Position in Media Informatics
with Focus on Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality (VR/AR/MR)

 

in the Institute of Media Informatics.

The successful candidate has an excellent and internationally visible research record in Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality (VR/AR/MR) or related topics of Media Informatics (like, e.g., 3D object acquisition, digital fabrication, human-computer-interaction, ubiquitous computing, or visualization) and extends existing expertise in the institute’s research and teaching activities in a suitable way. We appreciate the ability to establish links with other faculties of the university or companies in the wider area of Ulm and to contribute to our universities research focus on “Cognitive Systems and Human-Technology-Interaction”. We expect a track record in the acquisition of research funding and in the implementation of strong research collaborations. Active participation in the faculty’s self-administration is expected.

We are looking for an individual with a passion for teaching who is qualified to offer instruction both at the
B. Sc. and M. Sc. level in our media informatics, computer science, and cognitive systems programs, as well as in other programs related to computer science. Basic-level instruction is offered in German while advanced courses are often taught in English. We expect strong teaching skills, documented, for example, by excellent teaching evaluations or continued educational training.

Conditions for appointment are a completed course of studies at a university, pedagogical aptitude, doctorate degree, as well as additional academic achievements (§ 47 LHG).
