Lockheed Martin is seeking a Flight Vehicle Performance Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to execute 6-DOF simulation to verify missile performance prior to flight test and to evaluate performance after flight testing. Duties include: Setup parametric variations on scenario and hardware conditions and probe for deficiencies in performance. Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) verification runs will also be analyzed for differences from expected performance

This is an individual contributor, mid-career level role.


Basic Qualifications
BS and/or MS degree in Engineering. Able to break up a large problem and delegate tasks to a small team of systems engineers and coordinate effort with other engineering disciplines. Familiarity with Hardware/Software bench testing (have some experience supporting HWIL, SDL, or DVT). Familiarity with fundamentals of Radio Frequency (RF) transmissions. Comfortable with presenting technical concepts to the customer. Willingness to travel to customer meetings and subcontractor TIMs and Working Groups one or two times a month. Working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (Willingness to take Cost Account Management (CAM) training if not already done)

Candidate must possess or have ability to obtain a DOD Top Secret security clearance

Desired skills
Experience with creating presentation-ready plots of performance data sets
Familiarity with FORTRAN, C++, and Ada
Modeling and simulation experience with performance simulations of missile systems
Experience with missile performance prediction
Familiarity with digital signal processing
Familiarity with radar waveform design
