This position supports the Flight Test Data Processing Center at the LM Aero Palmdale site

This position is for a key integrator for LM Aero Flight Test data processing activities at Palmdale. The assignment will include tasks that involve coordinating user requirements, ensuring that software design and development meet operational requirements, and assigning and following up on day to day operational tasks to meet program priorities. Responsibilities will include acting as the primary planner and integrator of new flight test data tools and processes at Palmdale. This position will also be responsible for ensuring data quality and that appropriate metrics are in place and utilized to support quality data products.

Candidate will design, develop, integrate, maintain, and document flight test data processing tools and processes. Candidate will be the primary tool development coordinator with flight test senior leadership, instrumentation, and other subject matter experts

Additionally, candidate will utilize specialized digital electronic systems, data processing systems, and other methods to accomplish the recovery, computation, and display of flight test data. The candidate will lead and participate with other technical personnel in the diagnosis and resolution of any problems (hardware/software) encountered in the recovery of test data utilizing various data systems including PCM ground stations, telemetry ground stations, specialized data processing equipment, etc

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. For this particular position an active Top Secret security clearance, with a current background investigation.

Applicant must have excellent organizational and communications skills and will be required to work occasional odd, weekend, or overtime shifts

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access


Basic Qualifications
Experience with the following:
- Experience with Windows and UNIX operating systems, databases, and one of C/C++/C# development environments
- Networking / Network Monitoring / Ethernet messaging
- Final Top Secret with a Background investigation within the last five years

Desired skills
Extensive knowledge of system design - hardware, software, network - of test data processing systems for support of fast paced flight test programs

Prior experience with LM Aero Flight Test real-time and post-flight processes, procedures, and tools

- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of electronics and experience in electronics troubleshooting techniques and tools, including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and other common lab equipment
- Integrated Development Environment tools, particularly Visual Studio
- Scripting
- Matlab
- Avionics bus protocols including MilStd-1553, ARINC-429, IEEE 1394, Ethernet and Fiber Channel
- Flight test instrumentation protocols and standards
Familiarity with the following:
o Analog and digital transducers
o Solid state/magnetic media recorders
o GPS and IRIG time standards
o Video protocols and compression
o UNIX build tool chain
o Windows and UNIX System Administration
o Web Development Technologies and Databases

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
