This engineering position is with our Historic Skunk Works in Palmdale, California.

This position supports the LM Aero - Advanced Development Program as Aeronautical Engineer for the Flight Control and Vehicle Management Systems (FC&VMS) integration team.
• Under supervision, contribute to aircraft design, configuration development, feasibility and risk analyses from the FC&VMS perspective.
• Refine FC&VMS requirements, coordinating with other flight sciences disciplines.
• Create procurement documentation (for Vehicle Management Computer, Air Data System, Actuation System, Inceptors, Sensors), and participate in selection of vendors and management of vendors
• Work system performance analysis assessments
• Support component installation
• Design mechanical and electronic interfaces to support software development, integration and test.
• Coordinate on development of high level requirements, and flow down of requirements to procurement specifications.

Good oral and written communication skills are required as is the ability to flex and adapt in a fast-paced team environment. Complex organization and documentation skills are required.

Must be a US Citizen, position is located at a facility that requires special access. Must have ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor or above Degree in a Engineering Technical or Scientific Discipline

Desired skills
Flight Control Systems/Vehicle Management System experience
Experience with supplier selection and management (such as creating Equipment Requirement Document/ Specifications/Statement of Work and managing vendor selection and vendor performance)
Flight simulation experience
Hands-on experience with system build, system integration, and test
Supersonic air vehicle experience
MATLAB, Simulink experience
Experience with VMS development lifecycle: architecture, requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and flight test.
Experience programming in C/C++ and embedded software.
Experience with serial buses
Experience coordinating between groups
