Field Engineer - Depot Level Modification - Apache Flight Hardware - M-TADS/PNVS

Job Details

- Performs depot level repairs, modifications, refurbishments of specific components of the Modernized Target Designation Sight/Pilotage Night Vision System (M-TADS/PNVS)
- Operates general purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-maters, network analyzers and waveform generators) and uses knowledge of basic AC/DC theory to read, interpret engineering drawings and schematics to conduct fault isolation of faulty components
- Completes work IAW engineering drawings, schematics, Repair Component Procedures (RCPs), Field Advisory Bulletins(FABs), and Contactor Installation Procedures (CIPs)
- Documents work in automated maintenance data collection systems IAW Apache Fire Control processes and procedures
- Performs test and checkout of mechanical, electrical, structural, hydraulic subsystems and complete systems
- Performs limited supply duties (load/unload trucks), operates overhead hoists

Basic Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and experience in repairs of mechanical assemblies
- Knowledge and experience of Apache flight hardware
- Knowledge and experience in depot repair processes and procedures
- Knowledge and experience in AC-DC theory
- Knowledge and experience in trouble-shooting faulty components using general purpose test equipment
- Knowledge and experience in the operation of gen real purpose test equipment
- Knowledge and experience in the interpretation of engineering drawings, schematics, and test and repair procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift 35 pounds.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic and frequently changing customer requirements
- Knowledge and experience in policies and procedures for the control of Government property
- Knowledge and experience working with hazardous materials
- Knowledge and experience mixing and weighing chemicals
- Ability to properly safety wire assemblies and connectors
- Ability to solder and repair cables and harnesses
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Familiarity and experience with forklift operations

Desired skills
- Solder certification to J-STD-001
- Experience in soldering electrical wires and circuit cards
