Faculty Positions in Electrical Engineering

Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in electrical engineering. Preference will be given to candidates at the assistant professor level, but applications at other ranks will be considered commensurate with experience and qualifications. Appointments will be considered for starting dates as early asJuly 1, 2018. All applicants must hold great promise for research leadership and grant funding, teaching excellence, and service contributions. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.

The faculty search is focused in the broader areas of circuits and instrumentation, robotics, and micro/nanosystems. In the circuits and instrumentation area, the department is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in developing analog/mixed-signal/RF microelectronic circuits for micro/nanosystems with applications in areas such as human health, energy and power management, harsh environments, and manufacturing. In the robotics area, the department is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in planning, learning, and sensing/perception in robotic systems. In micro/nanosystems, the department is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in novel devices (electronic, photonic, MEMS/NEMS, biomedical, power, etc.), advanced functional materials, sensors and systems, and integration of heterogeneous devices for emerging applications. We are also searching for candidates that work in areas that closely align with the Internet-of-Things (IoT) Initiative at CWRU.

Successful candidates will hold primary appointments in the Case School of Engineering, although in many instances they will be eligible for additional appointments within other academic units of Case Western Reserve University. Applicants should provide the names and contact information of three references in addition to a cover letter, research and teaching statements, and CV.

The search will continue until the position is filled; however, for maximum consideration the applicant should submit his/her materials by January 15, 2018. We welcome all nominations and applications for these available positions; please contact YoLonda Stiggers (yxs307@case.edu) for additional information or to submit your application materials. Application materials can also be sent to:
