Faculty Position in Neuroengineering and Circuit Neuroscience

Development of new tools to explore and exploit neural systems provides opportunities to integrate analyses across multiple levels, from molecular through behavioral, to dramatically improve understanding of the circuitry of neural systems. The Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering is seeking candidates across all levels who will thrive in an intellectually diverse community of engineers and scientists across Purdue’s ongoing initiatives, especially the Purdue Institute for Integrative Neuroscience.

Successful candidates for this position will have the ability to leverage and/or extend expertise in implantable devices at Purdue including integrated/embedded devices for stimulation and/or recording of neural circuits using freely behaving animals. Ideal candidates will bring experience with technologies that employ implantable design and engineering-enhanced therapeutics to understand neural systems. Purdue provides an especially strong network of opportunities in the Center for Implantable Devices, the Purdue Institute for Integrative Neuroscience, and the largest neurosurgical group in the United States: Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine in Indianapolis. The collaborative goal of these efforts is preeminence in neural systems research combined with extraordinary clinical impact.

This position is part of the College’s initiative to build a preeminent team in the area of implantable devices and a University-wide effort to enhance neuroscience research.
