Job Details

Help us reimagine the University.

Who we are: We’re a small team of educational innovators, with deep roots in Vietnam, strong political and financial backing, and connections to educational institutions around the world.  We believe in the power of collaboration, transdisciplinary thinking, and risk-taking; and we understand that effective education requires putting the student at the center.

What we’re doing:  We  are embarking on the project of a lifetime: building an entirely new, non-profit university in Ho Chi Minh City.  With substantial financial support from the US State Department, USAID, and a variety of private donors, we are designing and building Fulbright University Vietnam’s flagship undergraduate program: a 21st century liberal education that combines engineering, computing, and the liberal arts and sciences.  We’re starting from scratch, with the goal of creating an institution that can transform the lives of young people, address the pressing needs of Vietnamese society, and ultimately point the way toward a new approach to high quality education in developing countries.  You can learn more about our project at

The opportunity: This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be part of imagining a new approach to education from the ground up.  If we throw out assumptions about curriculum, about disciplinary silos, about faculty and student roles, and about the relationship between the institution and the community, what might we build together?  If we deeply care about developing students as whole people, kindling their curiosity, and preparing them to lead in an uncertain world, what kind of experience might we create?

Interested? If you share our values, have creative energy and great ideas, and have or expect an advanced degree or equivalent experience in computer science, software design, electrical engineering, or a related field, we’d love to hear from you.  Visit to apply.

Materials received on or before December 1, 2017 will receive full consideration.
