The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Tennessee Tech University (TTU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Electromagnetics and Devices. Qualifications Required:

An earned Ph.D. from an accredited institution in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field by the start date of employment. A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering. Ability for teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Potential to develop and conduct externally-funded, high-quality research programs in the area of electromagnetics and devices. Engagement in scholarly activities as demonstrated by peer-reviewed journal publications. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications Preferred:

A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering from an ABET accredited program. Relevant teaching experience. Industrial experience. Experience in the development of distance education programs. Experimental research. Mentoring of undergraduate capstone design students.

The ECE Department, with about 400 undergraduate and 60 graduate students and 14 faculty members, provides an exciting environment for junior faculty members to grow and excel in this position. The department has expertise and ongoing research in electromagnetics, physical electronics, power/energy systems, communications, controls, and computer engineering areas. For more information, see The ECE department works closely with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Two State-sponsored Centers of Excellence in Energy Systems and Manufacturing within the College of Engineering support and promote the research of faculty and graduate students.
