These include a.o. user-friendly chemistry-free printing technology which saves costs and the environment, as well as mobile publishing software for newspapers and magazines.

 

Agfa Graphics has an exciting opportunity at our Branchburg, NJ site for an experienced Facilities/Utilities Engineer. Candidates should be self-motivated leaders and team players, with a ‘hands on’ practical aptitude, demonstrable through the development of understanding and detailed knowledge of complex manufacturing processes. We want someone who can challenge the ‘status quo’ whilst helping deliver ongoing improvements in reliability and throughput.

Responsibilities:

Working closely with Engineering, TQM, Production and Maintenance, you will actively pursue continuous improvement of Facilities and Utilities at the Branchburg Site.  Equipment includes: chillers, boilers, cooling towers and associated distribution systems, thermal oxidizer, air compressors and HVAC units. The focus should be on optimization, both for energy savings and reliability, as well as identifying opportunities to improve the process, to ensure that Agfa Branchburg remains competitive, in an ever changing environment.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Initiate and implement improvements with emphasis on reliability, energy efficiency and life cycle costs
  • Lead teams in FMEA/ Root Cause Analysis and reduction of downtime
  • Using conceptual design and data collection and analysis, perform engineering calculations to solve operating problems and optimize line operations
  • Support production in autonomous maintenance to achieve maximum self-sufficiency
  • Manage Facility CAPEX improvement projects
  • Lead efforts to improve utilization/effectiveness of process monitoring equipment
  • Objective setting, performance management and ‘day to day’ supervision of facilities technicians
  • Ongoing development of self and team, formally and ‘on the job’

Major Opportunities & Challenges:

As a Facilities/Utilities Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of all facilities and utilities processes, systems and equipment, and support the on time/on budget delivery of improvement projects, whilst meeting all safety, environmental, energy and quality objectives.

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred)

Skills, Knowledge, Experience:

Candidates should have 5 plus years relevant Facilities/Utilities experience in a manufacturing environment, excellent communication skills, be able to work in a team environment, interacting with staff at all levels, in engineering, operations and other areas on a regular basis.

Candidates should also possess strong analytical and leadership qualities as well as specific technical expertise.
