Join a world-class research team working challenging problems in AMO physics and Quantum Information Science. We seek a Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, or related fields with expertise in experimental AMO physics to conduct research

and advise the federal government in areas related to atomic sensors. The successful candidate will join MITRE's Quantum Information Science Group and will be located at the MITRE campus in McLean, Virginia.


Key Functions:

Perform collaborative cutting edge experimental work in atomic sensors; design, develop, test and operationalize prototype systems; and  provide subject matter expertise and advice to government sponsors as to the utility of this technology.




Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering and 3 years related experience. The candidate will demonstrate advanced principles, theories, concepts comparable to those obtained with a master's degree in the fields listed below. The candidate demonstrates sponsors'/customers' missions, domains, challenges. Fully responsible for deliverablesincluding definition, completion, and technical quality, as well as assuring consistency across the responsibility span.
