Description: EW Test Research manager

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced Electronic Warfare/Avionics Systems Researcher to lead a research thrust in next generation EW Test systems.  This individual with develop a vision, strategy and sponsored customer base for next generation EW/Avionics Hardware in the loop (HITL) test environments which include open, scalable test architectures, use of NEWEG and future generation RF threat generation, highly automated test suites and interconnect to federated/distributed test environments (federated models, LVC, JMETC, TENA, etc).

INTERNAL TITLE: Research Engineer/Scientist II; Senior Research Engineer/Scientist

EW Test Research manager

Conduct sponsored research in EW test in a HITL environment.  A thorough understanding of EW systems and test methods is required.  A background in either systems engineering, hardware or software development as applied to EW testing is required.  Must make technical presentations and have experience in preparing documentation for research proposals.


  • US Citizenship AND/ OR the ability to get a security clearance
  • BS/BA, MS/MA, 5-10 years’ experience in DoD EW/Avionics systems testing in lab environment
  • Experience making technical presentations and documentation for proposals


  • Solid understanding of HITL test equipment requirements, design and usage
  • Understanding, experience with distributed test environments
  • Solid understanding of common interface protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, etc.
  • Solid understanding of EW Principles
