Description: The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced Electronic Warfare/Avionics Systems Researcher to lead a research thrust in next generation EW Test systems.  This individual will develop a vision, strategy and sponsored customer base for next generation EW/Avionics Hardware in the loop (HITL) test environments which include open, scalable test architectures, use of NEWEGG and future generation RF threat generation, highly automated test suites and interconnect to federated/distributed test environments (federated models, LVC, JMETC, TENA, etc).  Job responsibilities will also include HITL project management, including budget, schedule and tasking set-up and management, including management and technical oversight of research teams.  The individual will also perform related systems engineering tasks, including requirements documentation, allocation to design and testing and systems engineering.

Education Requirements:  Master's or Ph.D.

Core competencies for this position:

  • Solid understanding of HITL test equipment requirements, design and usage
  • Understanding, experience with distributed test environments
  • Solid understanding of common interface protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, etc.
  • Solid understanding of EW Principles
  • Project management skills with strong planning, organizing and teaming abilities 

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a Master’s or Ph.D.  degree with  7-10 years or more of relevant experience
  • US Citizenship
  • DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain a clearance within six months after your employment with Georgia Tech Research Institute begins is required

  • Proven ability to prepare presentations and effectively deliver information to various audiences
