A challenging opportunity for a qualified Engineer in semiconductor.

In 2017 the machine park of ASM Microchemistry was expanded with two platforms. Altogether 8 process modules (Pulsar® and plasma tools) will be hooked up to these systems. The tools will be used for the development of the most advanced processes (> 3 generations ahead of current technology).

We are looking for an Equipment Engineer to join the equipment engineering team that takes care of the ASM owned equipment and supports the process engineering teams.

Primary function
Perform maintenance and remedial repair maintenance on complex electronic / electro-mechanical semiconductor capital equipment at ASM Finland in the cleanroom and support areas.

Other tasks

  • Support equipment and process teams.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on supporting equipment.
  • On the job training.
  • Install retrofits.
  • Perform hardware tests.
  • Participate in parts management.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and improvement efforts.
  • Maintain documentation.

Bachelor degree in electromechanical engineering or equivalent experience.

Experience in any or all of the following areas is a plus: wafer fab, closed loop gas and vacuum control, electro-pneumatic controls, microprocessor based controllers, robotics, basic concepts of software, toxic and/or flammable gasses and acids.


  • Basic troubleshooting techniques in repairing complex microprocessor controlled electromechanical systems.
  • Strong safety mentality.
  • Ability to work with hand tools.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communications.
  • Working software knowledge of MS office.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to work alone and/or with limited supervision.
  • Be able to interpret electronic / electro-mechanical schematics and drawings.
