Title: Entry-Level Software Developer – ELSYS -1633

Description: The candidate will provide software engineering for ongoing sponsored programs where GTRI is accomplishing products for in-flight entertainment systems.  The successful applicant must have knowledge of embedded software theory and experience in its application on mobile devices.  Responsibilities will include software engineering in C, C++, C#, RTOS and assembly language.

Basic Responsibilities 

  • Software Engineering/Development

Core competencies for this position:  

  • Ability to develop software on embedded devices (e.g. ARM cores, power PC, etc.)
  • Knowledge of computer architectures
  • Knowledge of multi-threaded software systems
  • Works well individually or in a group setting
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to self-motivate and derive specific requirements from general tasking descriptions 
  • Ability to assimilate and apply new job-related information in a timely manner

Job Requirements:

Research Engineer/Scientist I

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering ,Computer Engineering or related studies
  • US Citizenship
  • DoD Secret clearance is required or ability to obtain a clearance within six months after your employment with Georgia Tech Research Institute begins is required
  • Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering ,Computer Engineering or related studies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Completion of personal projects in a related field
