Lockheed Martin Corporation's Rotary Mission Systems (RMS) business is in search of a highly motivated staff level (level 4) Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leader to join our growing team in Marion, MA. Having mastered the art of electrical engineering design in prior years of work, the candidate needs to also be an outstanding and very strong technical leader, with several years of experience leading teams mainly consisting of electrical engineers for the evolutionary improvements and continued production of a mixed signal system (digital and analog). This position calls for a thorough understanding of board level design skill and being able to guide a team of engineers in all programmatic phases, including development, design verification testing, integration and test, first article testing, qualification testing, and manufacturing support. To convey accomplishments in the field, the candidate must be able to reference a sustained history of many successful electronic designs and effective leadership. Since this is a leadership position, and not an individual contributor role, a sustained history of projects which were on cost and schedule, as a direct result of your successful leadership, will be required.

The IPT Lead will work in our torpedo business area in a full-time capacity, becoming heavily involved with the following activities for product enhancements, development and production support programs, including (but not limited to) the following tasks:

1. Control Account Manager (CAM) with Earned Value Management (ANSI/EIA-748) practical experience
2. Performing a combined role of technical engineering team leadership and Earned Value Management (technical, cost, and schedule integration/analysis/reporting)
3. Working closely with, and subordinate to the Engineering Project Manager (EPM) and program office
4. Risk and opportunity management
5. Experience with defense First Article and Qualification testing
6. Failure Root Cause Analysis

There are considerable schedule, budget, and technical pressures, which must be balanced and aggressively managed. The successful person will be proficient in communicating upward to program leads and senior managers, but also downward to the individual contributors. The candidate must be highly engaged with program leaders, customers, other services impacting product deliver and test such as drafting, sourcing, safety, manufacturing, configuration management, etc. Additionally, the person must have great foresight concerning future tasks, so as to keep the team functioning in the most effective manner

It is highly desirable if the person is expert with Control Account Management particularly for defense contractors. Some of these CAM responsibilities include schedule planning and monthly measuring your IPT Team’s status with respect to the integrated master schedule (IMS). Additionally, actual cost collection, variance analysis and resultant corrective action, and estimating costs at completion. This IPT will be equally responsible for the technical scope, schedule, and budget

Other responsibilities are outstanding verbal and written skills, the ability to present in a favorable and impactful way to large audiences including internal management and external customers. This position requires frequent meetings at the program office level, with customers, and with senior management as well as with the engineering team. Occasional bid and proposal work are also required, frequently requiring considerably more than 40 hours per week. Some travel is required. Frequent overtime and occasional travel will be required

Basic Qualifications
At a minimum, the candidate must either possess at least a BS in electrical engineering (or have substantial equivalent experience), and have 4+ years of experience as a successful IPT and/or Engineering Project Engineer/management, driving teams and projects to closure

The qualified candidate must have:
1. US Citizenship
2. Possess the ability to obtain a secret (or higher) security clearance
3. Mastery of Earned Value Management (ANSI/EIA-748) practical experience earned value managing, scheduling, earned value measurement and collection techniques
4. Strong theoretical and practical experience
5. Outstanding ability to multitask
6. Long and successful history of designing, testing, and troubleshooting
7. The candidate must have a track record of strong technical leadership of multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to motivate and energize team members in a fast paced and demanding environment
8. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
9. Requires capability to establish and track schedules, budgets, and interface with military customers, vendors, and subcontractors for major components or sub-systems
10. First article and margin testing experience
11. Excellent interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment
12. Ability to thrive in multitasking environment, supporting multiple programs simultaneously
13. History and willingness to follow instructions
14. Past use of logic analyzers, common laboratory engineering tools such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, digital multi-meters, and other support equipment should be a part of the candidate’s history when he/she performed solely as an individual contributor
15. Mastery of MS Office suite including MS Project and PowerPoint
