Researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment, power electronics; communications equipment and systems; circuitry components and integrated circuits; analog and digital computers, processors, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA) and associated firmware; and control and test equipment.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing innovative approaches and functional implementation of digital signal processing in field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).
  • Research, designs, development, and testing a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including power electronics; communications equipment and systems; circuitry components and integrated circuits;
  • Analog and digital computers, processors, FPGAs and associated firmware; and control and test equipment as the candidate is expected to utilize equally both hardware and software design practices.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Candidate must be familiar with FPGA and Processor architectures and have implemented in more than one design utilizing VHDL (preferable) or Verilog.  Candidate should be able to utilize basic digital logic design concepts, have a basic understanding of digital sampling theory, have an understanding of static timing analysis, and understand the differences between synchronous and asynchronous digital electronics.  Candidate must have experience with both 1-D and 2-D signal processing and have familiarity with Xilinx FPGA development tools including Vivado and Vivado HLS.  In addition, candidate should have knowledge of C and C++ and understanding of functional and object-oriented programming models.  Candidate will prepare, participate, and present in technical briefings, such as SRR, PDR and CDR, to internal and external customers and is expected to write/support technical and cost proposal(s).  Candidate must have the ability to obtain SECRET security clearance, while a current security clearance is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

Candidate should have greater than 3 years’ (1 years with MS) experience in electrical engineering, computer engineering and/or software engineering disciplines.
