The Research Engineer responsible for analytics in the Emerging Technologies organization is responsible for developing, managing, and reporting analytics on multiple Emerging Technologies portfolios. This includes working with business and finance teams to coordinate the value analysis of project proposals and to assess ultimate implementation benefits. The individual must track and report EVM metrics for the portfolios. The engineer will work closely with performing teams, customers, and IP experts to manage and document IP positions for the portfolios. The role involves a significant amount of communication with performing organizations to collect data and report progress to executive leadership and customers. The engineer must be able to report technical and business related analysis

This engineer reports directly to the Director of Emerging Technologies. The Emerging Technologies team reports into the Future Enterprise Program Office within Corporate Engineering, Technology and Operations Digital Transformation organization.

The chosen applicant will have the option to work virtually from any Lockheed Martin site or from home

If desired, the successful candidate may be considered for a part time position with a minimum 32 hour work schedule

Basic Qualifications
Experience managing project teams consisting of engineers or scientists is required. Very strong communication and documentation skills are required

Desired skills
Knowledge of basic technology portfolio management processes is preferred. Experience with intellectual property planning for projects is desired. The applicant must demonstrate a history of collaboration and working with customers. The candidate must have interest in competitive assessment of technologies in manufacturing and engineering areas

• The selected candidate will be a member of a high-performing virtual team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills.

• The selected candidate must demonstrate effective communication skills as the position will require frequent interactions with technical leaders across the enterprise

• The ability to travel for broad business area facilitation and team interaction is required and should be expected at approximately 10% of the time

Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred
