Summary of Description:  

The candidate will provide software engineering for ongoing sponsored programs where GTRI is accomplishing modernization efforts for the US Air Force in the area of Electronic Warfare (EW).  The successful applicant must have knowledge of embedded software theory and experience in its application.  Responsibilities will include software engineering in C, C++, RTOS and assembly language.

Basic Responsibilities Software Engineering

Core competencies for this position:  

  • Ability to develop software on embedded devices (e.g. ARM cores, power PC, etc.)
  • Knowledge of computer architectures
  • Knowledge of multi-threaded software systems
  • Works well individually or in a group setting
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to self-motivate and derive specific requirements from general tasking descriptions 
  • Ability to assimilate and apply new job-related information in a timely manner

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with GPA > 3.0
  • US Citizenship
  • DoD Secret clearance is required

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • >1 year of relevant co-op and/or intern experience during undergraduate
  • Completion of personal projects in a related field
  • Knowledge and experience in EW
  • Knowledge and experience in RF receivers
