The Cyber Security Specialist, basedinthe Control Systems Division is primarily responsible for providing subject matter expertise and design guidance for embedded software as it relates to cyber hardened systems for our Defense Manufacturing organization. Your role has a particular focus on our on-engine embedded systems and Engine Monitoring Units. The incoming candidate will also be working globally with our other areas of cyber security. You will define and help implement the cyber security protections as neededfromthe domain requirements.

Accountabilities will include:

  • Implementation of DoD and Air Force Certification and Accreditation processes using DIACAP/ICD-503/Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Incorporation of Anti-Tamper and Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) during early stages of acquisition
  • Information Assurance (IA) Risk Assessment/Management, Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) Development
  • Incorporating Cyber Security Strategy at various acquisition milestones
  • Conduct vulnerability scanning, risk assessments, and create required lifecycle artifacts supporting Certification and Accreditation (C&A) for multiple organizations from any point in the system lifecycle
  • Create Information Assurance strategies, aligning security with DoD 5000.02 acquisition lifecycle and process
  • Contribute to the delivery of the assigned projects to cost, schedule and quality of the company commitments. Define and defend the estimates / commitments to the customer and other review boards as it relates to cyber security in all company products
  • Prepare for and present at technical gates and external reviews, including Product Introduction Lifecycle Management technical reviews, regulatory or customer meetings and Company Safety Boards
  • Actively ensure areas in need of improvement are identified and to work with the process owners to support the subsequent improvement activities where appropriate
  • Lead the process for capturing and developing requirements and evidence to demonstrate compliance
  • Negotiate and track requirements changes, ensuring these changesare managedthrough the defined processes to ensure plans and budgets are communicated and on plan
  • An experienced understanding of the industry requirements for cyber security based on theapplicabledomain, especially as related to embedded engine control systems
  • A proven history of the ability to develop capability in cyber security, including expertise in people, processes and tools and the ability to work globally
  • Experience in Cryptography, encryption, layered protection systems
  • Experience in vulnerability assessment and threat analysis
  • Experience with embedded systems, especially around avionics systems

 

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree with 12+ years of relevant experience in an Engineering Field or
  • Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience in an Engineering Field or
  • Master's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience in an Engineering Field or JD/PHD or
  • In lieu of degree 16+ years experience in an Engineering Field
  • Cyber security, Anti-tamper or Information Assurance Experience
  • Demonstrable technical leadership experience in relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience in DoD and FAA airworthiness process and requirements.

 

Preferred:

  • Gas Turbine Experience and Control System Experience
  • Advanced understanding of cyber security and detection techniques
  • Analytical and curious mind-set to carry out investigations
  • Ability to achieve Security Clearance relevant to regional government requirements
  • Experience of network anomaly detection using traffic analysis or network intruder detection systems
  • Demonstrable experience relating to acquisition platform and sensor cyber security along with a solid understanding of Risk Management Framework information assurance planning, developing systems of systems (SoS), systems engineering, network engineering, and technical interface design
