Job Details

This position will support the P321 and P441 Electrical Ground Support Equipment Group (EGSE) within the Special Programs Line of Business in Space Systems Company. The individual in this position will participate as a member of a small technical team of design engineers to support the entire lifecycle of EGSE, and will leverage their experience in electronics development, digital signal processing, and high-speed data acquisition to perform the following tasks:

- Design EGSE to interface, communicate, acquire data, and test Spacecraft flight hardware at the system level.
- Perform detail design using component and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware to support system level testing
- Create drawing inputs and parts lists inputs for drafting and packaging
- Participate in development identification and development of EGSE requirements with Systems Engineering (SE) and Certified Principle Engineers (CPE).
- Develop test plans and approaches to support EGSE development.
- Assemble, support, and present technical reviews including design reviews, test readiness reviews, and failure investigations
- Develop test procedures for system level verification using a "test like you fly" philosophy; utilize SSC Enterprise Efficiency and Commonality Initiatives in test wherever feasible and applicable.
- Create and execute troubleshooting plans to resolve discrepancies; write discrepancy reports and perform testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to hardware and software components
- Conduct failure investigations and develop corrective actions.
- Support manufacturing efforts for EGSE
- Provide operational support to deployed EGSE. Weekend, holiday, and off hours support may be required during critical path system testing
- Periodic travel may be required to customer and vendor sites

*Ability to obtain TS/SCI with Poly Clearance required for this role

*This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen

Basic Qualifications
- Must have the ability to obtain or hold current TS/SCI w/Poly clearance

-Bachelors degree from an accredited college in an engineering discipline or related equivalent experience/combined education

- Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting technical drawings to diagnose, troubleshoot, and modify existing designs

- Knowledge of Data Acquisition products

Desired skills
- Experience with LabVIEW Real-Time design and familiarity with TCP/IP interfaces

- Experience with Zuken E3 and the Automation Framework tool

- Familiarity with manufacturing processes

- Experience with overall spacecraft test flows including electrical, mechanical, and environmental test. familiarity with Spacecraft electrical test equipment

- Knowledge of Data Acquisition products and COTS Instrumentation for
Hardware and Software test applications; familiarity with National Instruments LabVIEW or similar software products

- Experience with troubleshooting and repair of Spacecraft Electrical Ground Support Equipment Group (EGSE) hardware and software systems in a dynamic and schedule driven environment

- A well organized, self-starter able to take direction, and work effectively independently or in a team environment.

- Outstanding communications skills, strong interpersonal skills are required; must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in presentation skills and use of associated presentation tools
