Job Details

Senior electronics engineer who will provide technical and programmatic support on the Air Force Strategic program. Specific duties will include design of avionics, failure analysis and worst case analysis of flight hardware systems. This position will support the program office, technical experts, and support staff to meet the demanding needs of our programs. Interaction with the customer is required as well as some travel.

Researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment. Applicants should have strong verbal and written skills. Must be able to maintain a secret clearance. Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts, in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in an Electronics or other related program from an accredited college/university.

Experience with electronics design or testing

No clearance required, but must be able to obtain a secret clearance (required)

Desired skills
The prospective candidate should have experience in the following areas:
• Familiar with the availability and use of high reliability components (active and passive)
• high speed analog circuit design, including pulsed circuits
• Digital circuit design including interfacing to FPGA/ASIC controllers
• Attaining circuit isolation utilizing optical couplers, transformers and other innovative techniques
• Application, design and analysis of DC/DC converters, including assessment of stability (frequency response and real time methods) and dynamic performance
• Proficient in detailed analysis methods to support current design and assess existing and proposed designs of circuits and systems
• Familiar with the application and use of Worst Case Analysis methodologies, including Extreme Value Analysis (EVA), Root Sum Square analysis (RSS) and Monte Carlos analysis
• Use of engineering tools, including Mathcad, MATLAB and Maple
• Proficient in the use of standard laboratory equipment; oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, frequency response analyzers, pulse and waveform generators etc
• Proficient in working in a laboratory environment to assess and debug analog and digital hardware at circuit, box and system levels
• Use of spiced based circuit simulation tools, including creation of custom models
• Design to meet the conducted and radiated emissions as defined in MIL-STD-461F
• Design of circuit protection methods to guard against ESD, EMP, SGEMP and general conducted susceptibility stimulus per MIL-STD-461F, CS101 thru CS116
• Knowledge of performance limitation of active and passive circuits during and after exposure to weapon level radiation environments
• Experience with design mitigation and compensation schemes required to create rad hard circuits and systems
• Experience with designing grounding systems for low noise in low and high power
• Mentor Graphics, ORCAD, Zuken or comparable drawing package.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
