Job Details

Candidate will serve as the primary subject matter expert for the Orion Avionics hardware architecture. Particular emphasis will be placed on serving as the lead architecture expert for the Orion Power & Data Unit (PDUs). The candidate will serve as primary technical resource to support all testing related to the PDUs. This includes the Acceptance and Qualification testing of the flight and qualification PDUs, the Orion Integrated Test Laboratory (ITL) testing of the PDUs as well as supporting the EM-1 vehicle level testing of the PDUs at Kennedy Space Center during their Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations (ATLO)

Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 14 years of aerospace electrical engineering design, integration, and test experience with a minimum of 5 years of Orion avionics experience
• Extensive electrical experience with complex digital, analog, and power designs
• Extensive test experience on both development and flight components
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills on both development and flight articles
• Experience with creating detailed test procedures, requirements, and scripts
• Complete understanding of debug tools required for troubleshooting of complex network hardware and software issues
• Ability to decipher complex communication systems
• Network requirement expertise down to the bit level
• Electrical experience working man-rated space programs

Desired skills
• Familiarity with the Orion avionics components and topology
• Detailed knowledge of Orion PDU command and telemetry architecture and PDU ODN hardware and software
• Displayed ability to effectively work through and present to failure review boards (FRBs)
• Established relationship with the NASA customer as well as the Orion Honeywell and UTAS subcontractors
• Orion controller table expertise with significant knowledge of the Orion network architecture
• Familiarity with Honeywell’s Shop loader tool for programing Orion ODN hardware, Controllers, High integrity Network cards and Network switch cards.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point), Wireshark, and programming languages (e.g. C)
• Understanding of Manchester encoded RS422 communication, time triggered Ethernet
