The successful candidate will lead design and development, analysis, test, and troubleshooting of missile flight electronics hardware. The tasks include establishing board and unit level design requirements, schematic generation and schematic capture, printed wiring board layout oversight, parts selection and stress analysis, board worst case analysis, and test development and execution. The engineer will be the Certified Principal Engineer of missile flight electronics hardware, and will work with Design Leads and other Subject Matter Experts to understand the hardware and systems, and apply circuit design and troubleshooting principles to develop new and improve existing electronics hardware. The job also involves developing necessary plans, schedules and budgets, as well as, periodic statusing and developing recovery plans as required. The job will also require involvement in development proposals. Technical leadership of a group of junior electronics engineers is expected in this role

Basic Qualifications
This position is an experienced professional position supporting Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Avionics Engineering. The position requires the candidate to be a Certified Principal Engineer, who may be asked to take rotational responsibilities for different missile flight electronics hardware. Travel required to outside facilities, possibly for weeks at a time, as business needs arise.

Minimum Required Skills are:
1.BSEE and/or MSEE degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
2.Experience in leading design and development of electronics hardware at all phases of design development. Successfully transitioned at least one CCA to layout. Knowledge of worst case analysis process
3. Experience as CPE or CPE delegate
4. Experience in developing and executing test programs at all levels of assembly
5. Experience with failure investigations with working knowledge of root cause methodologies. (E.g., Fault tree, fishbone diagrams)
6. Considered an emerging authority. Develop solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques
7. Experience in technical leadership of a group of peers
8. Has demonstrated proficient presentation skills and associated presentation tools.
9. Excellent communication skills with extensive experience in interfacing with peers, management and customers.
10. Has demonstrated project proposal planning, detailed planning, scheduling and budget generation and resource allocation

Desired skills
1. Avionics electronics design experience
2. Experience in design engineering tools such as such as SPICE or DxDesigner. Demonstrated usage of Zuken, Mentor Graphics or other schematic capture tool, and automated test management software (such as MATLAB)
3. Experience in FBM processes on failure investigation (E.g., Material Review Board, Root Cause or equivalent)
4.Working knowledge of electronics product acceptance test methodologies and special test equipment
5. Experience with test equipment
6. Experience in an adjacent engineering field (E.g., mechanical, specialty, survivability, materials/processes)
7. Experience working with subcontractors and remote field sites
8. Working knowledge of LM Command Media for electronics engineering design disciplines in
9. MRB certified in at least one FBM Line of Business (LOB)
10. Good verbal and written communications; easily understands and is understood
