This exciting position is with the Skunk Works located in Marietta, Georgia. This position requires a software/avionics engineer to use and apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques in the avionics field to assemble, integrate, and checkout lab and flight worthy avionics equipment in a laboratory environment for several large and small programs within ADP. The tasks will include demonstrations of Next Generation Communication and Open System Architecture in both the company labs and at customer facilities.

In addition, the selected candidate will work with local facilities to ensure proper resources are available to support the integration effort as well as working with buyers to coordinate delivery of new hardware and inventory management.

Familiarity with software development is desired as some software development may be required as part of the integration effort

The applicant will identify software requirements necessary to the integration of functions and capabilities into advanced system concepts and avionics architectures. Within the team, the selected candidate will participate in conceptual development, software implementation of Open Mission Systems (OMS), and integration and test of open architecture services within a Service Oriented Architecture framework.

Candidate responsibilities will span the technology development lifecycle, including requirements generation, system and design implementation, and integration and flight test. These responsibilities may also span the avionics services, to include ground station. Integration activities will include a multitude of host systems, such as live assets of varying capability and structure, simulated systems, and laboratory environments that include constructive simulations, physical hardware, and system simulations.

The selected applicant will be a member of a high-performing multi-site team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have excellent communication & presentation skills as the position will require frequent interactions with multiple internal organizations, suppliers and customers
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access
Additionally, candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors or Above Degree in Technical Discipline
• Experienced AND / OR classes in Electronic Integration

Desired skills
Experience in one or more of the following areas is strongly desired:
• Electronic hardware integration
• Testing of electronic systems
• Software Development using C, C++, Java or Linux
• Real Time Operating System Integration
• Mission Networking/Communications/DataLink/Antenna Integration
• Electronic Warfare Integration
* Excellent writing and communication skills
