Job Details

Edwards on site Flight test instrumentation engineer for the OT&E F-35 at Edwards AFB. Responsible for all aspects of instrumentation design, development, implementation, and operations at Edwards AFB under guidance of senior engineers. Interfaces with technical LM home site personnel in the development of instrumentation requirements, designs and installation. Responsible for integrating requirements and programming new instrumentation data acquisition equipment utilizing TTCware, as well as FTI fiber system, analog and digital signal conditioning hardware during integration and flight test. Exposure to video compression and recording devices; solid state media recorders; analog/digital encoders/decoders; GPS and IRIG time standards and receiving devices; and other instrumentation devices to develop, test, and troubleshoot data acquisition systems. Works with L-M homesite instrumentation engineers to identify instrumentation components; selecting parts, placing orders, managing status, and costs. Must be able to demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and work as a team. Will also work with other onsite instrumentation engineers to support and advise customer on instrumentation systems

Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends
Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. For this position, an active Secret security clearance, with a current background investigation is preferred

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT MUST REPORT TO WORK WITH REQUISITE DOD CLEARANCE

Basic Qualifications
Flight Test support experience
Experience with at least one of the following: Flight test instrumentation or Electrical design or Mechanical design or data acquisition systems or RF/Data communications or Pulse Control Modulation

Desired skills
Engineering degree or equivalent experience
Familiarity and experience with F-35 program and Operational/Integrated Test concept. Experience with installation of instrumentation systems on F-35 materials and subsystems
Knowledge of accepted practices for data gathering for F-35 program
Real-time mission control room support experience on F-35 program
Electrical Engineering degree preferred
Above average communication skills
Customer service oriented
Team player
