Job Details

This position is an experienced professional position supporting Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) D5 Life Extension (D5LE) Avionics Engineering. The successful candidate will lead design and development, analysis, test, and troubleshooting of missile flight electronics hardware. The tasks include establishing board and unit level design requirements, schematic generation and schematic capture, printed wiring board layout oversight, parts selection and stress analysis, board worst case analysis, and test development and execution. The engineer will be the Certified Principal Engineer of missile flight electronics hardware, and will work with Design Leads and other Subject Matter Experts to understand the hardware and systems, and apply circuit design and troubleshooting principles to develop new and improve existing electronics hardware. The job also involves developing necessary plans, schedules and budgets, as well as, periodic statusing and developing recovery plans as required. The job will also require involvement in development proposals. Technical leadership of a group of junior electronics engineers is expected in this role
Need a Bachelor's degree and 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.


*Ability to obtain Secret Clearance required for this role

Basic Qualifications
Minimum Required Skills are:
1.BSEE and/or MSEE degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education,
2. Experience troubleshooting with test equipment
3. Experience with failure investigations with working knowledge of root cause methodologies. (E.g., Fault tree, fishbone diagrams)
4. Experience in technical leadership of a group of peers

Desired skills
1. Prior FBM experience
2.Experience in design engineering tools such as such as SPICE. Demonstrated usage of Zuken, Mentor Graphics or other schematic capture tool, and automated test management software (such as MATLAB)
3. Experience in FBM processes on failure investigation (E.g., Material Review Board or equivalent)
4.Working knowledge of electronics product acceptance test methodologies and special test equipment
5. Experience in an adjacent engineering field (E.g., mechanical, specialty, survivability, materials/processes)
6. Experience working with subcontractors and remote field sites
7. Working knowledge of LM Command Media for electronics engineering design disciplines
8. MRB certified in at least one Lockheed Line of Business (LOB)
9. Good verbal and written communications; easily understands and is understood. Has extensive experience in interfacing with peers, management and customers
10.Considered an emerging authority. Develop solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques
11. Has demonstrated proficient presentation skills and associated presentation tools
