POSITION SUMMARY: This job posting is for a full time position embedded with the US Government at Eglin Air Force Base (AFB) near Fort Walton Beach, Florida and falls under GTRI’s Electronic Systems Laboratory. The roles of this position include design, development, and testing of mission data for the ALQ-213 Countermeasures Set installed on F-16C+, F-16CM, A-10C, and HC-130 aircraft. Design functions include obtaining information on desired system operation through direct interaction with electronic warfare (EW) system engineers, threat experts, and operational testers at Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Test Center (AATC), and operational warfighters. Development tasks include coding, compiling, and de-bugging.  Test functions involve developing test plans, thorough testing of mission data in an EW suite construct using a full hardware-in-the loop simulation environment at Eglin AFB, and documenting test results.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills  are required to convey test results to the US Government customer.  This position also interacts with GTRI, US Government, and other contractor developers of ALQ-213 system software.



  • Bachelor of Science in a technical field
  • Familiarity with electronic systems architecture (power connections, integration, networks)
  • US Citizenship required to obtain a DoD security clearance


  • A Master’s degree in technical field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree.
  • A Master’s degree in a technical field and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree.
  • Familiarity with electronic systems architecture (power connections, integration, networks)
  • US Citizenship required to obtain a DoD security clearance


  • Familiarization in expendable countermeasures
  • Familiarization in electronic warfare
  • Familiarization of surface-to-air and air-to-air threat systems
  • Understanding of Mil-Std-1553 bus architecture
  • Understanding of software code
