Job Details

Denver Transit Operators (DTO) is a privately held company that has a 29-year contract with RTD to operate and maintain the new commuter rail system within the Greater Denver Metro area.

We currently have opportunities to hire Electrical Journeyman/Traction Power Technician with experience in the Railroad or Transit industry.  The ideal candidate will have responsibility for operating and performing preventative maintenance, inspections and repairs on power substations and overhead catenary systems.   Experience with 25kv circuit breakers, rigging, sagging and operating bucket trucks is a must.  Knowledge with creating and processing work orders is highly desired.

This is a full-time position and depending on experience can offer up to $32/hr. We also provide an excellent health insurance plan, 401k plan, holiday and vacation time off and RTD transportation pass.

Interested applicants should have the following 2 years demonstrated journeyman level experience in the installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment.  Other qualifications include:

  • 1 year demonstrated ability to work with 440V or higher following industry safety practices and procedures (A combination of education and work history could meet qualification requirement)
  • Passing recurrent hands on and written assessment examinations with a score of 80% or better
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics and technical manuals
  • Experience with vacuum circuit breakers and high voltage 25KV experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills, including a proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Pass the pre-employment physical examination, background, drug and alcohol screening
  • A valid driver’s license required; Class A CDL preferred
  • Ability to work any shift, holidays or weekends depending on the business needs
