Electrical Engineering Lead
The Electrical Test / Development Engineer will be responsible for:
+ Design, develop and implement the physical integration of electronic components, sensors and actuators into full vehicle systems
+ Support customers with specific program applications
+ Decompose customer requirements into system, subsystem and component requirements
+ Develop SOR’s, DFMEA’s, and DVP&R’s for shock and strut module designs.
+ Work closely with internal and external customers as well as Tenneco suppliers
+ Support procurement, build and integration of electronic systems into development vehicles.
+ Manage the completion of the DVP&R.
+ Implement all aspects of testing, development and validation to complete DVP&R requirements including but not limited to:
+ Writing work orders
+ Procuring, coordinating and delivering parts / sub-systems
+ Assist vehicle builds and tests
+ Post test inspections
+ Test report preparation, reviews and presentations
+ Coordination of lessons learned back to the design responsible engineers / groups
+ Author new test specifications as appropriate
+ Solid mechanical and electrical abilities
+ Experience with sensor and actuator technologies including solenoids, wire harness and connectors. Hand on experience specifying and building all aspects of wiring / connectors systems
+ Knowledge/experience with vehicle network technologies such as CAN, LIN and FlexRay as well as network diagnostics and vehicle power distribution systems
+ Experience gathering customer requirements and translating them to system functional requirements as well as developing system and component specifications
+ Self-starter, self-directed and self-motivated
+ Ability to combine varied requirements into a cohesive system
+ Strong analytic skills required.
+ Solid communication skills.
+ Team oriented.
+ Good time management skills including the ability to set priorities based on aligned objectives
+ UG or Catia V5 familiarity is a plus.
+ Willingness to travel.
+ Experience with electronic sensors and actuators specifications and design
+ Good familiarity with embedded control systems is important
+ Familiar with ride control products and vehicle suspension system.
+ Work within a global team evaluating and documenting performance benefits and commercial value for unique ideas to enhance the NVH, ride, and handling of ground vehicles.
+ Follow NTI process to adequately assess ideas and provide documentation to enable successful transitions as technologies progress through the pipeline to assist commercialization efforts.
+ Adhere to Tenneco policies and procedures to promote safety and work quality, adequately leveraging systems to execute design, prototype shop, and test work orders, patent idea submittals, etc.
+ Required Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering with strong aptitude in the other disciplines.
+ Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
+ Minimum 3 years engineering work experience in a related field.
