Electrical Group Lead

Seattle Safety is looking for a Lead for our Electrical Group in Auburn, WA. Our Electrical Group designs a wide range of electrical systems in our products. The Lead will work in an office environment and complete hands-on work in a product development and low volume manufacturing setting.

The Electrical systems in our products are highly varied, ranging from tiny to huge. The Lead position is a great fit for someone who is flexible, resourceful, a fast learner, and can lead and delegate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Electrical Group, providing day-to-day direction to the team producing small volumes of highly varied electrical systems.
  • Develop new products with R&D Engineering. Build and test proof of concept.
  • Industrial Controls and Automation programming and communication.
  • Source and size components for electrical systems, incorporating PLCs, VFDs, motors and servomotors, transducers, valve drivers, etc.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Sales, Engineering, Production, and Installation to ensure electronic/electrical projects are on-time and meet requirements.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics with version control.
  • Establish best practices for electrical and electronic design and documentation
  • Comply with electrical code and regulatory requirements world-wide.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field from a four-year college or university.
  • 3 or more years of related work experience preferred
  • Able to read, write, and speak in English.
  • Up to 15% international and domestic travel may be required.

Professional Skills:

  • Organize and lead a small group, delegate work, coordinate with consultants.
  • Apply Electrical Engineering principles to varid problems.
  • Programming skills for PLC and addressable bus system development and diagnosis. 

Physical Demands:

Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and reach. 

Work Environment:

Working near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
