SUMMARY Perform engineering troubleshooting on various types of vehicle electrical schematics and electrical designs. Identify and troubleshoot vehicle faults based on technical literature and reliability failure data. Compare failures against design schematics to identify points of failure. Execute root cause analysis on vehicle failures into existing and new, medium and heavy-duty defense trucks. Work alongside technical writers and technicians in writing valid work instructions based on the troubleshooting procedures executed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Responsible for identifying service procedures for electrical components and circuitry into vehicle 2. Work with SAE, Federal, and Military Standards for customer compliance 3. Plan and direct engineering in a major project through all phases of innovation and development 4. Establishes priorities for work delegated to writers and technicians 5. Work closely with Maintenance Task Analysis and Reliability and Attainability engineering groups 6. Assist in feasibility studies and project estimates on proposed projects 7. Support proposal development 8. Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specification, and bills of material 9. Select parts and/or design components for cost and quality-conscious design to meet service applications 10. Consult with other Engineering groups for best possible courses of action in regards to complex problem solving 11. Follow multiple projects on the shop floor through maintenance and troubleshooting process and render assistance necessary to support maintenance engineering efforts 12. Utilize various state-of-the-art engineering tools, i.e. personal computer and CAD equipment 13. Possess a strong electrical knowledge of vehicles, electrical theory, electrical component and related systems


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering •3-plus years of experience working with truck/mobile equipment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS •Relevant design experience with vehicle electrical systems •Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems •CREO software familiarity a plus •Lean/six sigma background or experience •Strong oral and written communication skills •Experience with vehicle or heavy-duty equipment •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent resident
