Provide Engineering support toward the design, development, test and validation, and sustaining engineering of new products, systems, and equipment. Provide electrical engineering skills.
+ Support projects by contributing as a team member to the development of project schedules, costs, bill of materials, prototype builds and testing, engineering change notices and requests, preparing test plan / reports, attending team meetings, and communicating issues and progress to team and management.
+ Prepare and present technical reports to senior engineers, supervisors, and managers.
+ Soldering, assembly, testing, and repair / rework of printed circuit board assemblies.
+ Create electrical schematics and printed circuit board layouts using E-CAD tools.
+ Review mechanical designs and drawings. Create wire and cable assembly drawings.
+ Organize and maintain electronics lab area, test equipment, and project parts inventory
+ All other duties, responsibilities, functions and tasks as assigned.
Work will be performed in an office and laboratory setting. Occasional visits to remote or co-located manufacturing environments or customer sites may be required. Work requires working with electrically live batteries, high voltages, high power battery systems, and exposure to lead acid battery components.
+ Ability to design, plan, execute and document testing of complex devices and systems (i.e. hardware, software and integration testing / debug)
+ Ability to use electronic test equipment and tools (soldering, dataloggers, oscilloscopes, DMM, and power supplies)
+ Ability to read and understand schematics containing analog, digital, and microcontroller based circuits.
+ Bachelor's degree (B.S. Electrical Engineering) from four-year college or university and 0-1 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of 5 years of education and experience.
+ Experience with embedded C and Python programming
